I first heard of Up With People when they appeared on the Fort Benning Army Base, Columbus, Georgia in 1966 when I was stationed there. They were a new and unusual group that through their songs projected a sense of pride to be an American. I still have the 33-1/3rpm vinyl record I purchased at that concert and it still gives me that same feeling after all these years. There was in no way I would have thought this group grew out of a cult. All I heard were great heart moving songs that stuck in your heart.. Good clean songs that lifted the spirit during that tragic Viet Nam era. I’m glad to see UWP are still around and continuing to lift our spirits in another era where it is so desperately needed.

I was in Sing Out Miami in 1968 and 1969. I should know you. I have been in touch with many of the original members. Do you remember the DiGiacomo’s? How would I get in touch with you? Would be great to have a reunion!
