How lucky you are that you realized, two months before the end of the year, that there are so many people in the cast you have yet to reach out and touch and get to know on some level. The sadness would have come if that realization had happened two month AFTER the end of the year. ALthough you have seen amazing things and shared amazong experiences (and you will remember them forever) – it is the friendships you make in your cast that will carry you though your lifetime. As my 40th reunion is only months away, I look forward to seeing my friends once again – as we do every 5 years, and know what – it is as if we just got off the bus yesterday. Yes we are heavier, we have more wrinkles, and we may even forget things from that year – but inside we are the same, and we will never forget that our castmates are some of the best friends we will ever have. I truly love each and every one of them – even the ones I did not like the year we travelled!! They are my soulmates for life, as are the friends I have made in other casts over the years – Up With People lives on in each and every one of us – no matter how old we are – we have shared a common experience and that ties us together — You stated it makes you kind of sad that there is only two months left – but know in your heart – this is just the beginning! Your year is ending in 2012 and mine ended May 30, 1972 on stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City – but my Up WIth People Spirit is just as strong today as it was that tear filled night. I will welcome you to the Alumni Family – we are 20,000 strong and are a wonderful family to be a part of – enjoy your final months – and tell your Cast Family I am sending love and best wishes from Canada!!
